FAQ About Investment

What families ask before they commit

Direct answers, so you can make this decision with full information, not guesswork.

Why does this cost more than an hourly home care agency?+

Bright Companion Care is intentionally different from traditional hourly home care.

Your retainer provides consistent, relationship-centered support from the same professional, along with the planning, family communication, coordination, and follow-through that extend beyond scheduled visits.

The value is not simply in the hours spent together. It is in having someone who gets to know your loved one, understands their routines and preferences, notices when something seems different, and provides your family with dependable continuity from month to month.

What is the $200 Paid Intake and Planning Session, and why is there a fee?+

It is a 90-minute working session where Ezinne learns about your loved one's full situation and presents a clear written proposal at the end with the appropriate service recommendation, what it includes, and what it costs.

The fee protects that time for families with a genuine need. The $200 fee is credited in full toward your service fee if you move forward.

If you choose not to proceed, the fee simply covers the planning session and proposal, with no further obligation.

How long is the initial commitment?+

Monthly retainers begin with a three-month initial agreement and then continue month to month. The Care Transition Retainer is a 30-day engagement with no ongoing commitment.

Three months is long enough to build a genuine relationship with your loved one and demonstrate real value, and short enough that you are not locked into a long-term arrangement.

What if I'm not sure which package is right for my family?+

That is exactly what the complimentary Clarity Call is for.

In 15 to 20 minutes, Ezinne will ask about your loved one's situation and help determine which service option may be appropriate, or whether more information is needed during the Paid Intake and Planning Session.

You will never be steered toward more support than your family actually needs.

Can we start with something smaller and add more later?+

Sometimes, yes.

If a smaller level of support appropriately meets your loved one's needs, Ezinne will tell you plainly.

As needs change, additional support may be added or the service level may be adjusted, subject to availability and continued fit with the services Bright Companion Care provides.

If your loved one needs a different level of support for safety, comfort, or consistency, Ezinne will explain that clearly rather than recommend a package that does not adequately meet their needs.

A Note from Ezinne

Trust Begins with Transparency

Choosing support for a loved one is deeply personal. You are not simply hiring someone to complete a list of tasks. You are welcoming someone into your family's routines, private moments, worries, and decisions. Behind every call, question, and request is someone doing their best for a person they love. I never forget that.

You deserve to know exactly who will be walking through your loved one's door. When you choose Bright Companion Care, you work directly with me, Ezinne Akalonu. I am the person you will speak with, the person who will show up, and the person accountable for the support your family receives. You will not be left wondering who is coming or repeatedly introducing your loved one to someone unfamiliar.

That consistency gives something meaningful a chance to grow: familiarity. Your loved one does not have to begin again with someone new each time. Their routines can become known. Their preferences can be remembered. The small details that help them feel comfortable, respected, and understood do not have to be explained over and over again.

Trust also means knowing that the person entering your loved one's life has taken appropriate steps to operate responsibly. I have completed a criminal background check through Massachusetts CORI, and Bright Companion Care LLC maintains active business liability insurance. I also seek out relevant courses and certifications so I can stay informed about best practices in supporting older adults and their families.

Your family's story is not mine to share. Personal information and updates will be handled with discretion, and you decide exactly who is authorized to receive them. Your loved one's choices, home, privacy, and dignity will always be respected.

Trust should not have to be assumed. It should grow naturally when your questions are answered, your concerns are taken seriously, your privacy is protected, and commitments are honored. You should know who to contact, what to expect, and where things stand without having to chase someone down for answers.

For your family, that means fewer unanswered questions, less uncertainty, and greater confidence in the support surrounding you. Most importantly, your loved one will be known and respected as a whole person, never treated as a task to complete or simply another name on a schedule.
